Brief Introduction to CUFE
Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE)
Located in downtown Beijing,the capital of China, and established in 1949, Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE),under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, is one of the leading comprehensive universities covering extensive disciplines in law, arts, sciences and engineering, and it is also distinguished in economics and management. It is one of the 100 universities to which the Chinese government has attached top priority for the 21st Century.
History of CUFE
In 1949, shortly after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the first university of finance and economics was created by the China central government. During more than five decades' development, it has been one of the leaders in business and financial studies. The name of the school when it was first established was the Central Institute of Taxation. It later went through several development stages. In 1996, the Institute was officially renamed the Central University of Finance and Economics in honor of the Ministry of Education.
On the occasion of the university's 50th anniversary, former President Jiang Zeming dedicated the following massage: "Strive continuously to make great progress to provide large numbers of well-qualified management personnel to aid China's modernization."
Mission
Globally recognized for its academic excellence, CUFE today is a vibrant community of scholarship and learning that has inherited the traditions of service to the entire nation and striving for excellence.
CUFE has developed into a key resource for first-class personnel in all areas of economics and management, as well as offering comprehensive education in law, liberal arts and the sciences.
The new campus, located in Shahe, Changping District, is currently under construction and will have a final area of 80.4 hectares.
CUFE strives for continuous improvement and attaches great importance to:

Schools and Research Institutes
CUFE consists of over 30 schools, departments and research centers. The University awards bachelor's degrees in 39 academic disciplines, master's degrees in 42 disciplines, and 17 doctoral degrees in applied economics. In addition, four special programs are offered: MBA, MPAcc, MPA, and J.M. Key majors are in Applied Economics. There are also three post-research programs including applied economics, theoretical economics, business administration. |
