Favorable Geographical Conditions:
IEC-TCM is located in downtown Hangzhou,
the capital of Zhejiang province,
180 kilometers south of Shanghai.
Known as the "Paradise on Earth",
Hangzhou has long been famous for its breathtaking scenic
beauty and abundant natural resources. During the 13th
century, the famous Italian traveler Marco Polo visited
Hangzhou and described it as " one of the most beautiful
and magnificent cities in the world". One of the
seven ancient capitals and one of the top 10 famous scenic
and historical sites in China, it is famous as the Town
of Fish and Rice, Home of Silk, State of Culture, Capital
of Tea and Land Tourism
The West Lake is situated to the west of the city, and
is said to lie like a brightly shining pear snuggling
up to Hangzhou. In spring, blossom peach trees and swaying
willows are silhouetted quiveringly in the mirror-like
lake in a thousand and one forms. In summer, most part
of the lake is carpeted under lotus leaves, while pleasure
boats play the waters. In autumn, the full moon tosses
its image in the three pools of the lake while the air
is thick with the sweet scent of blooming osmanthus trees.
In winter, while snowflakes descend from the sky, red
plum blossoms, harbingers of spring, challenge the dominance
of the icy world. The West Lake is only 50 meters away
from the IEC-TCM building.
Around the IEC-TCM, there are free-market-street fairs,
galleries, teahouses, traditional restaurants and curio
shops for visiting, shopping and browsing
.
